Wow, an update

The Cardinals are on tv and winning. This makes me happy.

I know I really should update this thing much more often. That way I don't have to have these quick updates on numerous topics at once. Oh well. Here are my updates:

week vacation at island</strong>
Robin and I both took the week of the 4th of July off. We headed up to the island for an entire week. It was fabulous. I love being on the water. Hearing it just makes me more relaxed and I needed it.

On the actual 4th, there was a fireworks show on the lake. Robin, his friend Ben, and I took the boat out towards where the fireworks went off. Everyone else (including numerous dogs) stayed back at the island. It was a nice show and I discovered that I have a fireworks setting on my new digital camera. If you guys are lucky. I may post some of the pics later.

I also tried something new. Ben is the proud owner of a speedboat (which was towed out to the island at first cause it didn't work, but was fixed after several tries) so he, Robin and I went tubing. I have never been tubing before. I did manage to hang on for awhile (until the covering came off the tube). Robin and I also went on a double tube (where we knelt rather then lying on our stomaches). That lasted until my knees started to hurt. Not bad although I look scared in the pictures Robin took.

Overall, a wonderful and relaxing week.

Moving (official)

It's official I am moving at the beginner of September. I know I mentioned this before, but now I have an actual unit instead of a promise that one will be ready. It seems so much more official now that it's only a month away. I'll have a first floor, 1-bedroom with a den apartment. My unit faces a small courtyard. There are some nice perks too. I'll have my own washer and dryer (it sits in my closet) and there's even an indoor/outdoor pool with hot tub. Random
Triathlon training is going well, I guess. I wish I was in better shape but am impressed with what I can do. I am looking forward to the Chicago Triathlon, which is in less than a month (where did the time go?)

I saw the musical Wicked in downtown Chicago. It was wonderful. If you have the opprotunity to see it, please do so. The cast I saw was not the national tour, but the perment Chicago cast, with Ana Gastyer for Saturday Night Live as the Wicked Witch. Even better, I got to see it from the front row. How did that happen? I went early to enter the same day lottery. What is this? Like other shows, like Rent, Wicked saves front row tickets for a lottery held on the day of the show. People show up 2 hours early and they draw names. The names chosen got to buy the front row tickets cheap ($25). I entered my name but didn't get chosen so me and a couple of other people headed over to the ticket booth to see if any other tickets were for sale. We were talking and the guy behind us had won. He mentioned that he was by himself and won two tickets so if someone wanted to pay the face value, he would sell the other ticket. Yay for front row tickets. I had a great time.

Work is going well. I am still working in Chicago. This project is guarenteed to last through the end of August. After that, who knows.


I know I am forgetting so much stuff. I'll post it when I think of it. At least this is a start.
